Mentoring Statement
Dr. Zhu has had the privilege of mentoring underrepresented students, one of which joined her lab to conduct her Summer Discovery Triple I research project during her 1st year of medical school. Dr. Zhu has helped students where research was new to them and she is able to identify growth areas and help design projects with the right amount of challenge. Seeing these students successes gives Dr. Zhu great joy and deep satisfaction.
