Research Summary

My lab is focused on applying principles of basic T cell biology towards the design for more effective adoptive T cell therapies for human cancers, with a particular emphasis on uncovering the factors within the tumor microenvironment that may limit the activity of tumor-specific T cells. We use clinically relevant mouse models to understand the mechanisms limiting the activity of engineered T cells in human cancers and develop strategies to overcome them that can be readily translated to the clinic.
