Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
As a Latino, I have firsthand experience with the challenges that underrepresented minorities face in academia. I believe that it is the entire academic community’s responsibility to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Currently, I am the Diversity Officer for the Pan American Society for Evolutionary Developmental Biology, where my primary focus has been making academia more diverse by helping minorities attain faculty positions and mentorship.
