Research Summary
As an oncologist, I am confronted by genomic instability and aging as manifested in cancer. As a scientist, I am driven to understand the biological bases of these complex phenomena. My laboratory is focused on chromatin organization and its role in genome replication, aging and also as a target for the development of cancer therapeutics. We use several experimental systems including cell culture, mouse and yeast. We strive to understand how chromatin organization shapes genome replication, cellular aging and also to identify new small molecule inhibitors of chromatin modifying enzymes.
