Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

Science has historically privileged researchers from a narrow background, and I am committed to helping provide pathways into science for a broader set of scientists. In the laboratory, my overarching objectives regarding diversity and inclusion are twofold: to bolster scientific endeavors through a diverse research team and to cultivate a supportive and respectful training environment. My goal as a mentor is to help trainees reach their full potential. Given the diversity of backgrounds and life experiences, achieving this requires identifying each individual's unique goals and strengths. My role is to facilitate the development and broadening of their skill sets while fostering their integration into the lab and research community. I am committed to cultivating an environment that prioritizes collaboration and creates opportunities for every team member to thrive regardless of their background or identity.
