Research Summary

I employ mass spectrometry-based proteomics, using a combination of “discovery” and targeted methods, to understand the role of mTOR complex 2 as it relates to lipid metabolism in mammalian cells. Specifically, I measure levels of post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation and acetylation, to assess changes in cell signaling. I ultimately hope to discover new targets for the treatment of metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.
